Assistant Portfolio Manager (1) – Minneapolis, MN


This is a multi-faceted high contribution setting that will quickly put you in a position to learn all things property management. Fast paced and a variety of business functions including:

· Customer service

· Marketing

· Inside sales

· Social media

· Data management

· Caretaker liaison

· Project management

· Site visits

· Vendor relations



Property Manager – Prospect Park, Minneapolis


  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the property
  • Provide outstanding customer service and communication to our residents and new applicants
  • Build relationships and maintain effective communication with staff and vendors
  • Oversee, train and lead site staff - Assistant Manager, Maintenance and caretakers.
  • Coordinate the move-in/move-out process
  • Manage renewals and retention
  • Maintain timely communication with staff and vendors
  • Collect & deposit rents as well as follow up on delinquency
  • Prepare capital plans for the properties and execute approved projects
  • Communicate with residents regarding repairs and other matters in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies’ customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines



Building and Grounds Technician – Roving, Mpls Suburbs


· Apartment and Grounds Upkeep:

· Work at multiple properties in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburban areas with a rotating schedule.

· Assist experienced Maintenance Technicians in the completion of their preventive maintenance, repair, and upkeep of building maintenance work orders.

· Operate small machines in the course of building and grounds maintenance

· Building common area cleaning and light repair

· Cleanout of units after residents vacate. May include lifting and transporting heavy items

· Deliver notices and other items throughout the Twin Cities metro area

· Seasonal outdoor maintenance including shoveling, using a snowblower, salting, mowing, shrub trimming, weeding, and brush clean-up

· Promote safety and be efficient in work practices




Roving Maintenance Technicians (2) – Minneapolis/ St. Paul, MN


· General repairs to ensure each unit is up to company standards before inspections are completed and/or new residents move in

· Minor appliance repair as well as replacement of existing low-risk electrical.

· Hands-on work of all building repairs, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of the projects

· Regularly address plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets, and other fixtures

· Maintain and repair plumbing throughout multiple properties

· Communicate with residents regarding repairs using excellent customer service

· Promote safety and be efficient in work practices




Maintenance Technician - Chaska


· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and hands-on repair apartment maintenance issues like:

· Plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets, and other fixtures

· Repair or replace blinds, closet doors

· Low-risk electrical repair or replacement of lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors

· Minor sheetrock repair and repair of building construction such as broken windows and locks

· Minor caulking of tubs and sinks

· Minor appliance repair

· Provide expertise on building repair, concentrating on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings

· Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines







Caretaker – various locations in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul metro area


· Showing and leasing available apartments

· Maintaining the cleanliness of common areas

· Apartment turnover cleaning

· Seasonal grounds keeping

· Acting as the eyes and ears of the property
